Could we also add the AsRock Extreme 6? I'm also confused in what to buy. Thanks for any help!

while i have been out of the loop on the z77 i have been reading nothing but good things about the ASRock boards. MSI is also getting some nice words. I have heard some bad things about the gigabyte and the whole bootloop bot being fixed (cant confirm) right now i am about to go through another RMA on a same ASUS board and they are not helpful at all so would not recommend. if you also search here on ocn there are a few threads will users are asking for recommendationsand they might help you out. good luck and hope u get something nice. thumb.gif

I can vouch for the ASUS P8Z77-V LX as being a no frills board, purely worth it cause of the 89.99 price after the Microcenter $50 discount, I would not pay the full 139.99 tho.

You should search for some reviews and look for the extras you need from the Board like better OC, more Sata ports or other special things. Overall I would go with Asus. But its only my own decision. Asus seems pretty good. My choice is the ASUS P8Z77-V PRO. I have no real experience with it but I hope i can go up to 5 Ghz with SB.

I would suggest going to each of the Company X Z77 owner's threads and having a skim to look for general overclocks and problems (if any) for the motherboards you have listed. With each passing day is more end user feedback so there is definitely a wealth of information to look at!

Just as a note you aren't supposed to bump your own thread more than once every 24 hours. Keep that in mind so you don't get reported and/or infractions in the future smile.gif
