I built this rig about a month ago and there have been no issues. I added a graphics card about 2 weeks ago and there has been no static. Just yesterday though, I started hearing this weird static coming from my headphones which are plugged into my speakers. I thought it might have been my speakers so I unplugged them and used them on my ipod, no static. I looked it up and it appears to be electromagnetic interference from my graphics card. I used MSI Kombuster and low and behold, there was a static noise. All my components are new so I really doubt that it could be my psu failing. I guess one thing that has changed about my setup is that I installed a new hard drive in my computer, but I have no idea how that could cause static interference in my system. Oh yeah, my speakers are plugged into the onboard motherboard audio, not a separate sound card. My i5 is also overclocked to 4.5 if that helps.

I was wondering how I could solve this problem with the interference from my graphics card. It is very annoying, especially when trying to play games.

My System:
CPU: i5 2500K o.c. to 4.5 with a hyper 212+ cooler
GPU: XFX 6870
MOBO: p8z68-v Gen3
PSU: Antec Neo Eco 620c
RAM: 8gb Gskill 1600
HDD: Seagate ST2000DM001
Speakers: Logitech z313
