read the overclock tutorial, as i have a black edition i can just bump up the multi and just increase the volt smile.gif
so i changed it to
x20 = 4.0ghz
volts are now 1.425
decreased the ram speed

but i want best performance so should i increase the HT and NB ?

some one give me a step by step guide smile.gif

here pics of what it looks like on stock settings .

this pic is kinder old... i had it overclocked to 3.7 ( with stock volts ) and worked fine smile.gif

Leave the NB and HT speed alone. prime95 with small fft for at least 1 hour, and also make sure CPU temps arent too high. if you get BSOD then increase voltage a bit more

Set the Dram Configuration manually. Its the only way to set your memory frequency when OCing with the Multi.

54 is pretty cool, you should start worrying when it hits 70C+

No. Sorry but thats completely stupid. max recommended for a 955 is 62 degrees. At 70degrees the PC will shutdown as a preventative measure.

OP, what cooler are you using?

It sounds like your using a stock cooler.......My 955 BE runs at 4.2 on 1.5 volts and it doesnt even go over 60degrees. Thats with a 212 EVO cooler.

OP, anybody will suggest that you try and keep it 55 degrees and under. But over that, you risk further problems. Also, do not exceed 1.5volts for a 24/7 OC.

i had a 1055t before and it did not shutdown even when it went up to 70C. i replaced that rig with my current rig not because of Overheating so 70 is definitely not the shutdown temp for overheating. and they use the same K10 cores.
