corrupts drive and need help

Thread Starter
I have a corrupted internal hard drive so how do I format the hard drive instead of throwing the HDD away? I'm afraid to attach it to my gaming rig because it might infect my gaming rig. Idk what to do. I just want to be able to use this hard drive again

does anyone know how to format one without infecting the other hard drives on my computer?

Just hook it up to any computer and boot to a disk like DBAN or Killdisk. If you want to be extra safe, disconnect the other drives before doing so. DBAN or Killdisk will let you wipe the drive completely and you won't even have to boot into Windows. No chance of "infecting" anything.

What Dopamin3 said, just to add that if you have already a windows 7 boot dvd/usb, you can use that too.
But to be safe, you should better disconnect all disks to avoid formatting the wrong disk.
