I'm the lucky one.. I got the BD and 2 1100t's for free..

I think overall Asus motherboards are the best quality boards on the market to date. From a performance perspective you will not notice any difference in the two boards but i always stick with Asus or gigabyte they have never done me wrong in the past. Good luck with the new setup.

I have the ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX Pro and so far every benchmark being run by reviewers and other members are within margin of error of what I can get. Both board are high-end boards and the decision for me was PCI layout alone.

Simply put, I needed 2 PCI slots.

Im running my phenom II in Asus' 990X board (M5A99X) and I must say they bios is terrific!. Flash it tho is a bit weird as it doesn't always recognize the USB drive. May bemy own issue tho.

+1 for the ASUS board

There is no impact on performance based on which motherboard you are using. It may have an impact on USB, RAM, etc at a very minor (within margin of error) range, but that's it.

Im running a msi 990FX GD80; very nice board, good layout/extras/features, super easy to OC the crap of your CPU etc.. 1 friend have a sabertooth and its a really nice board too, i like the fact that comes with 2 cpu fan headers for push/pull on aftermarket heatsinks thumb.gif

Oh btw, the MSI 990fx have a stronger VRM circuit than the 890fx version.. it can handle Any FX cpu with a hefty OC with no problems

Like they say, go for features/layout, other than that practically there is no difference (we are talking about high end AMD motherboards of course)

I was thinking more along the lines of OC potential, not clock for clock performance. Its the same chip at the same speed, of course its going to perform the same. All decent boards should OC to a decent level and it might only matter to the extremes, but I'm just throwing ideas out there.
