You're welcome. smile.gif

PS... looks like Tom's hardware is regurgitating OCUK now .. They got a hold of the Gibson info and now it will go viral lol
http://www.tomshardware.com/news/GeForce-GTX660-Ti-Kepler-GPU,15506.html

Maybe it is true :/ ?
sure hope not .
The shining beacon of hope is this tiny line in the Toms info > " There is no official word from Nvidia on the release of the GTX 660 Ti. "

So still could be a fake. Let's hope so.

PSS. Look like my original post with those links got removed some how :/ ??? perhaps because the person i replied to was flaming ? not sure. But if you could repost those links others may appreciate it.

thank you :toast:

780 out in August or before end of year? I can believe it.
This current 680 (i know beating a dead horse) was supposed to be a 660ti/670. If you believe the rumors the real 680 is postponed/vacationing until AMD answers the "680" that is out now. Hell Nvidia can release a 780 next week if they wanted to.

I believe the rumors simply because I know if I was a business owner and I could sell a lower quality item as a "high end" item and make plenty of money off of it then I would. especially when the lower quality item beats the competitors high quality card.

even though the 680 is in fact a high end card I don't believe its Nvidia's best right now, they'll release their 780's when they want to and can actually produce enough of them. (based on the rumors)

GTX 780 would be early next year Q1-Q2. It is stupid enough to release new card level under the same year and you know why? First, they can't even fullfill the demands right now on GTX680 out of stock 24/7.

Secondly, R&D (Research & Development in case you don't know) need to regain what they spend on designing the GTX 600 series.

Having a GTX 700 series will just shoot themselves in the foot.

So stop talking about GTX 700 series and this is GTX 660 Ti thread... out of topic!

Well in lamens terms (no time right now to dig through 3 month old reviews) I think the hold back or in this case somewhat early appearence of the 700 is moreso driven by combating AMDs suspected releases at same time. If you remember there was some debate several months ago as to wether then "new GPU" was going to be called 600 or 700. To our surprise there were infact two series and the answer was both.. the GTX 600 class first and GTX 700 class second. The speculations as to why did they hold on to the 700 and not just release 600 for laptops were buzzing around as well. In the end I think some believe that they are holding the 700 up their sleeve to see what AMD does next then .. BAM! Royal flush..
Speculation anyways but sounds legit.

Sometimes what doesn't sound right to you or I may not be the whole picture. We're not the manufacture and we don't know what all factors they are considering. I work for a high technology manufacturer and not everything is cut and dry or make sense till after release then it's hindsight or a market gamble, which is the case a lot of the time... I think Nivida was/is holding on to the 700 to see what AMD does next, IMO, which I believe their next card is rumored for that time aswell.

PS my previous post was on topic about tom's hardware quoting OCUK's info about GTX 600 TI late Q3 release. It was ignored by those caught up in GTX 700 series; so, I hope this info above answers questions and puts us back on GTX 660 TI as well.

OCUK is a retail SHOP. There's a difference.

The guy on OCUK doesn't provide a single shred of proof or evidence backing his claim. What exactly is the difference?
