Let me make one thing clear for everyone at the outset (I can hear the arguments/complaints forming in your heads already). The FX-4100 and the FX-6100 are NOT true quad/hex core processors in very much the same way an i3 is NOT a quad core. They are 2 and 3 core processors with 4 and 6 threads respectively. If you look at the design of the chip, each "core" has to share resources with another core just like each "thread" in an intel chip has to share resources with another. With a TRUE hex core chip, each core has it's own dedicated resources. The only difference between intels HT and AMD's Module is that AMD's design has the advantage of having dedicated physical hardware for each thread. If they can work out the kinks it has the potential of surpassing Intel's design (note I said potential). Only time will tell if that bears out. So keep that in mind when you view the results before you consider the FX series a win/fail. In all reality we're pitting a quad core vs a triple core or "module" if you will with 6 threads.

Yes, actually they are. A FX-4100 uses 4 logical cores with 2 FPU's. A single bulldozer module holds 2 cores. So theoretically a FX-4100 is a quad core, but only acts like dual with HT. This is where AMD failed at marketing. If they marketed the FX line based on how many modules each had they wouldn't of been so bad (FX-8150 would of been compared to the Phenom II instead of FX-4100). Anyhow, I personally would like to see stock for stock | clock for clock | max clock for max clock comparisons. That would pretty much sum up any Phenom II vs Bulldozer questions anyone would have.
