I overclocked mine to both 4.5+ using just multi and both multi and base clock. Upping the base clock can improve other parts of the system than just upping the multi alone. The trick is to find the balance between the two to give you the best performance without having to just "throw voltage" at it.
Yeah I was just checking out your guys' numbers and the SSE scores looked curious to me. All the other scores seem to fall in line nicely though. Great thread by the way
im using your numbers as a base to determine whether my overclocks are successful or not. For some reason, overclocking with the multiplier on my chip makes it incredibly unstable. Im able to bench at 4.5ghz by just upping the fsb but getting to the same clocks using the multi+fsb makes it crash within minutes of booting. Guess my chip just loooooves its base clock to be fiddled with
