A 30 run IBT isn't going to be a complete test of stability but it's quicker than running prime95 for 24hrs and yet better than just a short 1 or 2 hour prime95 run. But that's just from what I've been able to see and experience.so I could be wrong. Either way both stress the system and check for accuracy.

i think there all over kill a system can be stable yet fail ibt or prime

Actually that's incorrect. A system might "appear" to be stable until stressed, that doesn't mean it is stable and won't encounter any problems. Run a system like that and you're begging for the data on your HDD to be corrupted.

ha wish ya would accpt my results from before when i ran the system at 4300.but ima idiot and did something wrong but i assure u i didnt cheat.i hate cheaters

Does overclocking with just the HTT/FSB and not the multi improve the SSE scores in passmark? Because my FX-6100 overclocked to 4.4ghz using just the HTT/FSB scores 39.7 for SSE, and at 4.5 its getting 40.2 points, scraping at the heels of an 8-core.

I overclocked mine to both 4.5+ using just multi and both multi and base clock. Upping the base clock can improve other parts of the system than just upping the multi alone. The trick is to find the balance between the two to give you the best performance without having to just "throw voltage" at it.

Just looking at the summaries in the original post, It's amazing how well the X6's are doing.

We could use results from your 2500K in both the first round (missing some benches) and round 2.

Yeah I was just checking out your guys' numbers and the SSE scores looked curious to me. All the other scores seem to fall in line nicely though. Great thread by the way thumb.gif im using your numbers as a base to determine whether my overclocks are successful or not. For some reason, overclocking with the multiplier on my chip makes it incredibly unstable. Im able to bench at 4.5ghz by just upping the fsb but getting to the same clocks using the multi+fsb makes it crash within minutes of booting. Guess my chip just loooooves its base clock to be fiddled with biggrin.gif

Keep up the good work, looking forward to the numbers for round 2 to start pouring in thumb.gif

Overclocking the HTT does little to nothing, and can actually hurt performance sometimes. It's best to overclock when using crossfire/sli to provide a bit more bandwidth to the cards.
