Actually now that you mention it post the benches for both rounds and I'll add it to the list. Just make sure to post the two CPU-Z tabs (cpu and mem tabs) with the screenshots etc.

Still need results to be submitted for both rounds. Anyone have any ideas for a change to the thread title to open it up to the APU's? Maybe some Athlon II's as well? What do you think?

Edit - If I've missed a posted result let me know so I can go back and add it.

Athlon ii is not a bad idea, i've even seen some people post that propus should be chosen over bulldozer. Not that i would agree with that *points to rig* rolleyes.gif

Actually, depending on one's budget and current hardware setup, there are cases where I would.

I think he means that there have been some who've suggested things like an athlon II is better than an FX-4100 etc. or better at gaming than FX.

As for previous post, i would recommend an athlon ii if they were on am3+ or am2+ motherboard and on a tight budget, i current own a athlon ii computer myself, a 620, was my former comp before i built this one. It was starting to feel a little old.

Like everything it all depends on your uses. I used an athlon II in an HTPC setup until I picked up a little android powered box to take it's place and it was perfect for that. I picked up a sub $300 comp for my parents when they needed to upgrade that's powered by an athlon II and since all they do on it is surf the web and word proc. etc. it's more than adequate for their needs. Just all depends on the uses.

Just wanted the whole room to have a wee look at these professinal benchmarks if you choose:

i5 2500k .vs. 1100T

Thanks!! Geeker... smile.gif

Sysmark or any other benchmark coded with intel's compiler is useless for bechmark comparisons.

Edit - I'll assume you don't know and explain. Intel got busted using CPU ID's in their compiler that allowed a CPU with a "genuine Intel" CPUID to utilize the fastest code path while simultaneously choosing the slowest code path if it came back as a non intel CPU regardless of whether it was compatible with that particular path or not (i.e. SSE2/3/4 etc). That's why the Justice Dept. opened an investigation and the FTC took Intel to court in 2010 with Intel finally settling and agreeing to post a notice on their website and change that tactic in future revisions of their compiler (on top of having to pay damages to any developer who files a claim, and furnishing them with an alternate non intel compiler). In other words they cheated to make their CPU's look faster than the competition and they got caught. That's why we've excluded benchmarks like sysmark that not only do not reflect "real world" results but actually cheat in favor of Intel. I would do the same for any benchmark that cheated in favor of any CPU regardless of Manufacturer. That is far from a "professional" benchmark.
