Also, I can post results from my Laptop CPU just to add to the mix of things. :3 If you're all trying to shame BD, which is the message I'm getting, why not compare it to a Laptop i7? tongue.gif

Holy cow I'm loving this thread. Only 21 pages in and it's getting pretty beefy, in-depth (beyond my own knowledge and experience), and so much detail...makes me wanna skip ahead by 10 page leaf-throughs instead of page by page of responses. tongue.gif

Well, now I know where the FX-4100 stands which should give me a baseline comparison when the new FX-4320 comes out. Looking to build a new SFF LAN gaming rig in the coming year and abandoning my mildly OC'd C2D E8400 (3.4 GHz). I love how cool the new FX chips run even under air cooling, much less water or closed-loop.

Can anyone tell me if the X number of phases a mobo has would have any effect on overclocking a FX-4100 to say 4.0 or 4.2 GHz? I wanna see if settling for a budget board is worth it in the end or if I'll to sacrifice a few more bills in order to get a better OC potential out of the board.

Official Benchmarks of all AMD Processors CPUs & APUs do NOT LIE, especially when they all come from well respected Professional websites, Like TomsHardware, http://www.techsupportforum.com

& benchmarkreviews.com, finally, http://hothardware.com/ etc. just only (4) of dozens

Lets face bit GUYS I bought your Spin, sorry, and Bought the AMD FX-8120 8 Core, with huge Cache, and was surprised to see my i5 Stock kick its butt at any Game, with a EVGA GTX 660Ti S-Clocked 3GB GPU Card.

Whats more is I bought because it was much cheaper than my 4 Core i5 2550K, and seemed like a Genuine bargain, fair enough, its NOT bad for Video editing work and a few other things besides quick internet browsing,

However I put that down to my Samsung 830 SSD. Sorry GUYs I thought you had something special in that nicely decorated RETAIL Box but again in my humble opinion, AMD need to rethink. (Everything)

Its just my Opinion, so don't be getting upset now...!!

This is NOT an Intel Fan-boy speaking here, I tried your product and because the price was cheap, I will keep it, its in one of my rigs, and I will make use of it, never the less, its ( NO Pocket Rocket.) not for 8 cores.

At the present time its NOT a bad price, but in no way is it up there with a TOP i5 2500K or 2550K, for Gaming just one example, perhaps Windows 8, may allow more thoroughput in, so in order to get what you claim.

NO doubt you have trialed the beta version of WINDOWS 8, is there much of a difference, be nice to know, because I can upgrade from Win 7 64Bit ATM quiet cheaply, very cheaply indeed. If I get my pre-order into

Amazon.co.uk £49.99

So, please someone advise me if indeed like many say its suppose to run better in WIN 8, please confirm or deny. Thank-you.

Kind Regards,.

PS. Please no fanboy-isim attacking my opinions, just reply if your NOT an angry head AMD Fanboy. just peace and neutral either way, its only a processor fans.. not the end of the world yet.!smile.gifsmile.giftongue.gif

send my regards to Bubba, he is a decent Guy... be nice to here himself reply if he can make time (5 mins) is all it takes. He is TEAM RED, but never the less because I still respect the Guy because he is straight.!

Although you claim to not be a fanboy, your commentaries paint a completely different picture. Also, your claims of firsthand experience with the 8120 make me believe that you probably never owned one as they differ from those of us who have in fact owned the cpus you mentioned. I suggest you view the following....

Unfortunately, Bubba gave up on this forum due to the biased, and unfair treatment of moderators to the AMD community. It is a real shame too as he was a very helpful, and open-minded member. He can be found on overclockers if you're interested in reaching him.
