I read that incorrectly...I thought you were saying that you wouldn't recommend a 480 (single) unless you were running 2 360mm rads.

HD6970 VS HD7850

so you guys are saying 6970 without overclocking but 7850 after overclocking?>

Actually, the 7850 is better. 7850 = 6970 > 570 = 480.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-7870-review-benchmark,3148-21.html and this was done before the drivers were retail ready.

7850 hands down. The 480 is faster at stock clocks but the 7850s can manage a 45%+ overclock.

I actually sold my 7970 for £400 before the HD 7XXX price drop to save a bit of money and picked up a pair of 480's for around £250.. (Waiting for proper Kepler cards GK120).

Im running BF3 @ all ultra setting with 2 x MSAA @ 2560 x 1440 on SLI GTX 480's. Runs excellent !! biggrin.gif

Tempted to try water cooling with H50's and Dwood mountings... They do get a bit toasty tongue.gif.
