Bought a 3770k but thinking about returning it, heres my dillema. Help! - Page 7

Using hambones methods for my first overclock on this chip. Starting out slow and working my way up. Just messing around with 4.5ghz at 1.30 vcore. I also tightened up the timing on my ram. Running super stable right now. I can prolly lower the vcore to like 1.28 or so but I just set it here to start. My temps are also staying about the same as they were before it was overclocked, so it's working good. Gonna get better cooling in my machine and start bumping up that multiplier and vcore. Will report back tomorrow.

Yeah I could, but I would rather someone on OCN get that puppy and show me what they've done thumb.gif

I had microstutter with my 3 480's on z68, but since getting the pair of 7970's, smooth as hell.

If you got the chip I say use it, I know I suffer from buyers remorse all the time, last thing I blew a chunk of money on was my ps vita paid about 275 bucks and hardly touch the damn thing. But I'd rather have it and be pissed about spending the money then not have it and wonder what would happen if I had it?

I'm perfectly content with my 2500k even though I really wanted a 2600k at the time it just wasn't necessary, and even though I want a 3770k now its still not necessary. I'd be more interested in putting some money towards a 7970 right now, but since I only game at 1080p thats a little overkill especially since I don't have much cash atm.

anyway I'm just trying to say sometimes we want things that we don't really have any need or use for but the fact that we have it makes us happy, it really comes down to whether or not you have the money to spend. and if you already bought it and its there you should probably just keep it. anyway good luck bud
