how about this . . .

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.916644

you might want to browse more and find better deals. places like Tiger do not charge taxes and at times offer free shipping.

from a x58, i think your only other path is 2600K/3770K(?). x79 is more appropriate.

running x8 for your gpus wont bottleneck you noticably thats a myth that has been perpetuated you will be fine going 1155 with either a 2700 or 3770 if you have good cooling go with the 3770 its about 5% faster clock for clock than the 2700k also with the new z77 chipset you get pci-e 3.0 native

There is also the ASRock X79 Extreme3 LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard for $209.99.

If you take into consideration that the Core i7 3770K is selling for $349.99 and the Core i7-3820 is selling for $309.99, that is, $40 less, that difference more than covers the cost difference between the $175 you're willing to pay for a motherboard and the cost of the AsRock motherboard.

The ASRock X79 EXTREME4-M LGA 2011 Intel X79 costs $214.99, which is also covered by the CPU price difference, and for just a few bucks more, you can even buy the ASRock X79 Extreme4 LGA 2011 Intel X79 for $224.99

My dad is gonna pick me up a 3820 from the Boston MC tomorrow.

I'll have to decide which board I can afford lol.

How hard are they to OC without the unlocked multiplier? I'm a total newb to overclocking. I basically copied someone else's bios profile for my 4.0 and adjusted volts until it was prime stable.

Heh. So, gonna get this done tomorrow. Just having last second worries about the 3770k vs 3820, lol. I think both will be great performers. All i really do is game, and I do some light video editing on the side (roommate does it for a living, and I've started to fiddle). That's mainly why I want HT. I may try to get more involved in it.

I can say i went from a 930@4200 to a 2600k@4800-5000 and im happy about it the 2600k runs great and stays cool. My 2600k system feels more snappy then my old 930 ever did.
