Global media tycoon Rupert Murdoch is "not a fit person" to run a major international company, British lawmakers investigating phone hacking at his tabloid News of the World reported Tuesday.
The ruling could prompt British regulators to force him to sell his controlling stake in British Sky Broadcasting, a significant part of his media empire.
The damning report accused Murdoch and his son James of showing "willful blindness" to phone hacking at News of the World, and said the newspaper "deliberately tried to thwart the police investigation" into the illegal activity.

It's a good day, indeed. Figured I'd share some good news rather than the Anti-Apple hate that keeps spurring its ugly head. Good to see the originator of slanting the news is being put down.

Good, it would have been a gross injustice if nothing had happened to him. Even if it's true that he had know knowledge of the hacking, no business owner should be that out-of-touch with there employees to allow them to break the law.

I would hope so.

But Ruined, do you honestly think that he truly was just "out of touch" with his employees? "Willful blindness" implies so much more--the intentional decision to distance yourself from knowing anything about a business segment because of the idea that it is likely conducting illegal activities. As the head of a corporation, you are ultimately responsible for its actions (well, unless you're a major US bank CEO, lol), and as such you cannot be blind to its functions.
