Amazon won't accuse you of bending the pins, I sent back 2 keyboards no questions asked (well besides the basic questions when requesting the RMA), if your replacing the item they'll have the new one out right away.

Defects can be of all sorts.. its not like your sending a board back with a spill or something that looks like you played frisbee with it.

That's why I always buy everything I own at my local comp shop as I can inspect everything (that would need inspecting of course, not EVERYTHING) before I buy it. They have a policy where if you do not get a cpu mounted onto your mobo that you buy so that they can see for themselves that there are no bent pins that the customer has to sign a waver saying they saw the pins and they are not bent.

Apparently this is an issue.

Sorry you had to come across it.
Success.

Also I bought a gigabyte z68 board from newegg and it didnt work so I sent it back, i was getting a boot loop issue and slow usb performance. When they got the board they said it had 4 bent cpu pins, which I never noticed and am almost sure I didnt do, and they just sent me the mobo back and refused to give me my money or exchange for a different board. I was pretty pissed and bought an asus z68 and got the gigabyte back in the mail a few days later, I forgot about it and never tried returning it to gigabyte themselves. That was about 2 months ago, I wonder if I could still return it

Wrong. Ordered a "like new" foxconn h67 itx from amazon's "warehouse deals" and it arrived with multiple bent pins. Amazon took it back without any hassle though.

You have a 2500k in your sig... How did you not already know that is how these chips/mobo are nowadays? Makes it much nicer IMHO as if im building in a very inebriated state the pins are in a much more protected place. thumb.gif

I looked at them and they aren't only bent, but it looks like someone tried to yank them out. They are nearly twice as long as the other pins and all bent up (in more than one location). I would have to bend them back, straighten them out, and then somehow shorten them. On a brand new $290 motherboard, no thanks. It seems like something messed up at the factory. frown.gif

I couldn't get my camera to focus on it good enough, or i'd take a picture. I sent the motherboard back to Amazon, and my new board should be arriving today. I'll definitely be inspecting this one before I rebuild my computer.

Pins, contact points, same difference, both need to be in place to work. They are contact points, i'm just calling them pins.

EDIT: Whee, backup computer is so slow I accidentally double posted somehow. tongue.gif
