There's tons of sites just like that where you can buy diablo II items. There is no stopping it, so whats wrong with some of that money going to players, and a little bit going to blizz? It also ensures blizzard pays more attention to the economy, since they have a stake in it.
I literally can not see a single downside, since all the downsides would exist in illegitimate third party sites either way.

I did say most people won't be bothered by it tongue.gif

Its just not the kind of game I want to play. I like to keep my game's as game's that's all.. sub's are pushing it in my mind too. Just not my thing and those are the reasons why.

For a "crack" you'd need to host your own version of battle.net

The whole game functions like an MMO.

This article is both wrong and really dumb. If I sell an item for $100, I'll get $84 deposited into my PayPal. That is $84 more dollars I'd get in any other game. And if I sold it through other channels, there is no safe way to guarantee the trade would be secure and safe.

Please excuse the newbness, but if you sell items that enable you to complete the game or compete in live mode, wouldnt that cripple your game experience?Do people wait until they finish the game to sell their items or Is it easy to just craft new high-end items, or do people just play the game to make a few bucks?

I sold my final stuff on ebay actually before I quit and I made quite a bit on the whole shebang.

If anything you said was true and blizzard truly didn't care about the games they make "as long as it's a cash cow" then we'd be on Warcraft VI, Starcraft IV, Diablo VII, and WoW III.

Seriously, they could make a TON more money than they already do if they wanted.

So glad I gave blizzard the finger and stopped paying them tons of money for their mediocre game offering's years ago. Along long time ago(over a decade) blizzard actually cared about its fans and did its best to put out great game's that where cutting edge, Then wow came out and it went down hill. SC2 was lame in comparison to previous offerings. It felt like I payed 60 bucks for a lame expansion pack.. now their true money grubbing side has been shown.. God how I hope this game flops hard core
/rant I'm done now lulz

So blizzard gives us the opportunity to make a little money playing a game while making a little extra themselves and you somehow see this as bad...

You'll have a hard time convincing me that you've done any research at all on this subject.

No their cash cow is WoW, they are making SC2 and D3 to keep blizzards name in the headlines. SC2 while a fun game really just feels like a 3d upgrade of the original, its not groundbreaking in any way. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy it, I do enjoy SC2.

This is hard to believe coming from you. Blizzard drove a chunk of their fan base crazy taking so long to release DIII. It has been 4 years since the game was announced and ~10 since the last Diablo release. The Warcraft series (not WoW) hasn't seen a release in 9 years and it was also ~10 years in between Starcraft releases. I'll be the first to say that Blizzard cashed in on WoW but it isn't like they are putting out bad games and forcing people to buy them. Can you really blame Blizzard for making a hugely successful game anyway? (I'm not a WoW player and generally dislike MMO's)

I am not a WoW fan at all. I just have not been happy with blizzard games since War2. SC2 was alright but feels like a rehash. D3 bored me, 10-12 hours in and I was bored, I wanted D3 to bring back the addiction of D2 but its just not there.

You actually played DIII 10-12 hours? That is a lot considering it is ~45 minutes of content. There is so, so much that is not included in the beta that will be available in the full release on the 15th. I'm also surprised you didn't play/like Warcraft III. Willing to bet I spent thousands and thousands of hours on that game. Played it for roughly 10 years.

Because you can totally tell if it's addicting with an hour of content and limited item drop formulas made just for beta.

But whatev, to each their own.

Sadly most people won't get that. They gave us 30-60 minutes of gameplay and only a fraction of the first act, and are basing the entire game on that.

Either they haven't played Diablo 2, or they have an are just idiots. The first 30-60 minutes of Diablo 2 were boring as can be as well. Especially more so on Normal difficulty.

I disagree. The first 30 mins of diablo II are great.

Not after you've played the game. Then they just become lame.

The problem is, he, played the same 45 minute portion of the game, like 10-11 times.

Of course you'd get bored. Be weird if you didn't.

And yes, Blizzard still cares about it's fans, or as I've said, and was said above, we'd be on Diablo 5 or 6 by now tongue.gif and StarCraft 4 and WarCraft 7. They could do it and they'd all be blockbuster sellers.

The RMAH will help take a good chunk of the sites like Lewt business away. You've got a safe, secure place, where you're sure to get paid and nothing can go wrong.

Or a dodgy third person site, full of topics about being ripped off.

98% of the population will chose the RMAH to a site like "Lewt"

Those sites only developed due to the lack of a Auction House in the original Diablo II. With the AH in general and now the RMAH, Blizzard has done really good addressing a major issue with Diablo II.

And you haven't been happy with a game since WarCraft II? Well dude, that means you didn't like the original Diablo or Diablo II...so your opinion on Diablo III is reduced quite abit for that. It means you don't like the series / genre, so why come in here and talk about?
