[Kotaku] Blizzard will take a Big cut of Money You try to make From Diablo III. - Page 20

What people are going to do is sell the smaller items for gold or trade somewhere like JSP. Then they'll save that up to buy a bigger item to sell on the RMAH. This will make the good items super overpriced in gold though, since everyone will be selling crap and want the big one for the RMAH.

Agreed, in that I think a 3rd party site will end up being the best place to trade and maybe even buy/sell items.

However, I really don't see people spending $100s of dollars on a single item in the RMAH(previous posts). With the millions of people playing this game it would be silly to spend that much on an item, because a better item could be on the next champion you kill, or listed the next day at a lower price point and that uncertainty will be what keeps people from buying.

Note: I have never played EVE Online.
From what I have heard other people talk about EVE's economy. Could Blizzard maybe trying to create that same sort of model for Diablo 3?
Probably best answered by those well into EVE's economy.

People already spend that kind of money on diablo II items.

You're only going to constantly get better items when you're still playing through the game. Once you reach end game gear, what you buy will probably be the best item that is possible to drop for your character, or as close to that as you can afford. These are the items that will be selling well, and they will only drop in hell difficulty. Add to that the rarer and even more difficult to get inferno items, and you'll see some pretty rare items going for probably several hundred dollars eventually.

Your time is worth nothing if you're playing a game for fun... if you are trying to make money off diablo, "you're doing it wrong".

So blizzard could just create infinite items/gold and they would have infinity moenys IRL u mad?

The reason anything in virtual goods holds value is because of the WORK people put in to get it. You could make money working fast food instead of diablo and you'd probably be making more money/hr with a headstart from not buying the game.

30% from gold and 15% from items is pretty huge (or w/e it is exactly).

As to buying and selling in game, I did a lot of that back in the day, I avoided d2jsp...they made me mad early on. I used to use dtrades.org, which is just about dead these days. I sold my final stuff on ebay actually before I quit and I made quite a bit on the whole shebang.

I am confused. Everything you did was against the EULA of the game. Yet you did it anyhow to make a personal profit but are upset that a company is allowing you to do it legally as long as they get a cut.
