I just upgraded from a 4850x2 to a GTX 580. All I have to say is " F***king WOW"
I guess the dust will keep piling up on my Xbox and Playstation.

it's so awesome getting a new upgrade that doubles your power. I really noticed it when going from a single 4850 to a 6850!

I think you should have gotten an AMD 7870, overclocked beats Gtx 580

But your Gtx 580 will do all games @ 1080p wink.gif

i dont get the wow... i have 2 and im not wow'd. once you turn up settings and play on a 2560x1600 screen, the fps drops to where, say 2x4850, was when you played with low settings/resolution

Sad to hear that you're not happy. But I'm only using one monitor at 1920 x 1080.

Jeez. What a killjoy:thumbsdow

Wow dude....way to be a killjoy. This would be like...

Rich Guy 1: "Hey man! Check out my new Lamborghini Aventador!"
Rich Guy 2: "Dude I totally would have gotten the Ferrari 458 because....."

In either case it is just jackass.

I am going to go out on a limb, based off the rest of your systems specs being fine, that any unhappiness you have with your setup is because you have two GTX 580 but only the 1.5GB model. You see, when you break that 1920 x 1080 resolution you need more than 1.5GB, at your ultra high resolutions you need 2, 3, or even 4GB. Not sure if you are aware, a lot of people aren't, but VRAM doesn't pool with SLi. Having two 1.5GB cards doesn't give you 3GB, it gives you 1.5GB as the data has to be replicated in both cards.

At your resolution a single GTX 580 3GB model would perform better than two with 1.5GB. Your issue isn't a lack of performance on the card so much as it is you are hitting a VRAM ceiling. Now if by chance you have two 3GB models then I would be looking at another issue, possibly faulty hardware.
