OK temperatures for 4.4 OC on a 2500k?

I'm in the process of finding my highest stable overclock on my 2500k. Right now I got it at 4.4GHz under prime the highest core temperature has been 67C. Mind you, it would go to the 80's when I had the stock cooler; I'm using a hyper 212+ right now. I know lots of people say don't go above 4.5 on air, and I've got the voltage at 1.28 right now. I think that's pretty OK for now, and it hasn't stuttered at all. Started with the multiplier at 40, then 42, and now 44. I'm not really doing long term stressing, just trying to ballpark it for now, and then do full-fledged stress testing for stability. What do you'all think? And also, I think this chip will go above 4.5 easily lol.

Going over 4.5 on air is not really a issue with the 2500k. It all comes down to core voltages as long as you stay under 1.38-1.40V and your temps stay in the low 70's then you should not have a problem. It looks like you have a pretty good chip so I would not be surprised if you could come close to 4.8GHz and still get acceptable temperatures.

Jist tried 4.6 on 1.28v and it gave me a 0x9C BSOD. So from here on out I have to start increasing voltage. Gonna try 4.5 @ 1.3!

1.3V is reasonable for 4.5ghz. I have mine at 1.312V for 4.5ghz to be stable running prime95 for 12 hours. Anything less would cause a crash or a failed worker 4+ hours in. I'd say your temps would increase a good 3-5C. So ~70C is to be expected of a 212+. Try beating my 61C tongue.gif

So running a 2500k @ 4.5 with temps in the low 50's (under 100% load) is ok? I have a thermaltake frio but turn the fans way down because I couldn't stand the noise and was worried it might be making the temps too high.
