a usb 3.0 board going in a usb 2.0 case?

hey guys im new to building computers and i was wondering im getting a ft02 case, the only thing is that that case is usb 2.0, and the board im getting is usb 3.0 (its the asus sabertooth z77) will it be able to hook up right?

Should be fine.

(I assume the FT02's USB 2.0 connectors use the traditional headers that plug into the motherboard along the bottom, not USB cable extensions)

Should be fine... you'll just get USB 2.0 speeds through the Case's USBs.

so i can just plug it into a usb 2.0 port on the board? i guess that will work with the asus sabertooth z77

also im getting a keyboard that plugs into usb's will it be just as fast in a 2.0 than a 3.0?

The front panel connectors on the z77 sabertooth are 2.0. USB 2.0 and 3.0 are completely independent of each other so I would use the 3.0 ports on the back for high speed devices such as USB flash drives or external hard drives.

use the 2.0, keyboards and other input devices have no benefit in usb3. The only thing that can utilkize the speed is data transfer (flash drives, external HDDs)

also, you can get a usb 3 panel that would fit in a drive bay that you could hook to your mb's 3.0 connector and get the 3.0 speeds in the front.

Where are you buying the fto2 from? I read the fto2 thread on hardforums and the latest shipments at Amazon have usb3.0 top ports. Also if you don't get one with usb3.0 you can buy an upgrade kit direct from Silverstone to bring the usb 2.0 ports to usb 3.0 ports.
