Best 7970 to watercool? - Page 3

I had 3 DC2's on order lol. I really wanted them to succeed man. And I have to admit that I've spent some amount of time devising a way to connect a DC2 to a ref block. Did you ever take measurements btw?

Plan was an offset fitting to go from slot 1 to slot 2. Then a koolance 180 fitting.

and the core temps r about the same as my reference xfx, that i sold to my friend.
so i really didn't get the point of getting the dc2 over the reference.
and look around OCN, things regarding to Asus RMA support threads.
pray to ur god, jesus, ala, buda or what ever the god u believe, that asus will get u a good card back when u need RMA service from them.
I have decent faith in Asus's RMA. I had to do it 3 times in the past. 2 out of 3 there good. redface.gif

Yeah I really wish the DCII didn't have such a bad failure rate. I feel like I got to see the good and bad with my 2 cards. One is better then reference and the other is terrible. I highly doubt the ref blocks will fit the DCII. Even if the mounting screw points and everything matched up, the inlet/outlet ports wouldn't stick out enough on one side, which would defeat the purpose of it. The DCII PCB is much wider then reference.

Btw this is how my PC will have to look like. Back when I had a 6970 with a waterblock, it was perfect. I was using less then 16 inches of tubing!
