Rig for parents comptuer

Thread Starter
Hello everyone. Basically I want to build my parents the best BANG FOR THEIR BUCK computer for approx $500 US. At this price range most likely the AMD processors are best choice for performance.

I was looking into the A6 and A8 chips AMD has with build in GPU's and was wondering would that be sufficient enough for their use?

Parents use: Internet, Email, photo/light video editing, video chats, storage of all data like pictures and videos. Occasionally my younger brothers would jump on to play games such as runescape. and what not.

A set up i was looking at would be :

Simple Case: Anything at this point
CPU: Phenom II X4
MB: Biostar cheap and reliable
GPU: if needed in this situation.

Please give me some insight on what you all know about the A8 cpu's and their performances. and please recommend a rig set up for approx 500 US

I've done a few of these family build rigs.
Go for a dual or triple core Athlon II. It'll be just fine. Also no need to spend above $80 for a MB find a good asus one for that price range.
350W PSU min 450W max.
I was able to do my last Family build with an SSD because I got a nice deal (about $100) for a 128GB So that would definitely be a nice feature. Find an LED monitor in the $99 range. About 19-22". It can be done.

As for case... any of these will be awesome. HERE

For $500 that will be the best you can do. GFX, higher end CPUs, and more storage will be about $200 more.

Phenom II 906T would be best value for bucks.
Check in Microcenter. Last time I checked in, they are having a combo deal in which they are giving away a free motherboard with 906T added with many more options.
