First off what is the purpose of the build? Second as I've been told the V8 cooler is an over priced POS everyone recommends the 212 Evo

Oh how silly of me.

The cliche of waning somethig that can be viable 5+ years down the road.
Geneally used for gaming / media center / AutoCADD. Things like that.
I plan to go into overclocking and water cooling a bit later on.
Lose the V8 and aim for something better like the NH-D14, SilverArrow, or the Phanteks PH-TC14PE. Their just as big and bulky as the V8 but perform way better. Your going to want the best cooling possible if you plan on overclocking. Other then that rest seems fine.

If your looking for fast storage I would recommend something along the Spinpoint line.

This is a better(price/performance) CPU/mobo combo when it comes back in stock.
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.915173
This one if you want an i7:
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.915197
I would only get the i7 if you are doing autocad for a living.

Better RAM if you can find it in canada
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/samsung-memory-mv3v4g3dus

Personally, for a cooler I would go with an H60/80

And for an SSD go with one of the following:
  • Crucial M4
  • Samsung 830
  • Plexor M3

Thanks for the input so far.

I know the SandForce controller had it's issues, but thankfully it's good to go now so for the price i can't see any reason NOT to get the Mushkin.

Being somewhat tech ignorant... What exactly does the Samsung ram offer that is making it so hot over everything else?

The reason i went with the V8 cooler was i wanted something a bit better then that tiny stock cooler... And had heard it performs decently for the price. I DO plan on overclocking this but won't be doing so until i get a custom water loop setup. So the V8 is just going to be a temp that will be going on my old pc once the watersetup comes in.

If anyone has any other suggestions as far as a replacment for the v8 which is simular in price... i'd be all ears. Remember it's just a temp cooler.

Boyohboy i remember looking at that ASRock but in the end decided to go with the asus. I've spent many a day going back and forth on a few boards.

The 212 evo from cooler master is around $35 and has way better performance than the v8 which is listed around $50. And on the Samsung ram its low profile and is a beast when it comes to overclocking.

The samsung ram overclocks better, it has been known to hit 2400Mhz+.

Also, this is a cheaper and better SSD than you have listed.
