Asus G53, Driver problems. This laptop is starting to be a nightmare!

Thread Starter
The HDD on it has a Recovery partition but it is lost because I thought I was getting a SSD, but the seller didn't go throu with it. (I completely reformatted the drive)

Now When I try to install the Drivers by myself there is a Camera Driver missing. and I can't find it anywhere!

I found this Old Thread
: http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?1150-G73-74-53-Series-Driver-and-Application-Reference

But the links are dead sad-smiley-002.gif and I was really happy when I thought I could get the Drivers disk (ISO) for my G53(SW).

What I ask of you Ow Great OCN Forum, is that you may help me find the Complete ISO for my laptop (Windows 7 and Original G53 Drivers), or atleast the Drivers disk!
If neither, then a Camera Driver will work aswell thumb.gif

Thanks in Advance.

Click the "Download" tab, then Select the Windows 7 64-bit OS, then wait for the list of driver categories to appear. Under "Utilities", first driver is Webcam biggrin.gif

Are you sure the webcam works? When was the last time it was working?

Asus Live Update utility might work, it's a semi-automated driver installation utility.

I had the same problem with the webcam. For some reason it wouldn't work. I had to use the Lifeframe3 Utility from Asus.
This thread at the rog forum has the Windows 7 iso with SP1, all the drivers are there too, but the Lifeframe utility you have to get from the ASUS support downloads. http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?5224-Drivers-Apps-and-How-to-s&country=&status=

No go. Still does not work. I looked at the site, but still no webcam drivers.

Are you running Windows 7 64-bit?
Do you have Admin rights?
Did you try to run the setup as Admin?

Also, did you install the Asus ATK driver? Actually, if you could list all the drivers you've installed so far, that would help too (ex: if you didn't install chipset, oops!).

I installed the Asus webcam utility and it doesn't seem to have any webcam drivers - looked through the CAB file, didn't see any .inf's, even checked through it's folder in Program Files. Did the same with the ATK driver, and there definitely are drivers in there - I'm just not sure if it's *only ACPI and Hotkeys, or if it has stuff like webcam as well. I'd test further but Asus doesn't seem to have driver release notes (very obnoxious - you'd think any decent company would provide them), and I don't have an Asus laptop.
