The FPS advantages are faster firing rate, higher jumps, quicker movement all together. 333 FPS even allows you to run silently at times in CoD.

EDIT:
It's one of the reasons they locked the FPS in recent games. As they're unable to fix it. Due to it being a Quake 3 engine bug.

Not always. It depends on the license. You can't just take the Open Source software and sell it as is without paying royalties. But if you take something, modify the crap out of it you can sell it without having to pay but you do need to give credit and retain origin licenses in place.

So the Quake 2 engine finally has DX11. That's progress! Thanks Treyarch, way better than let's say... a new engine.

His words. So no I cannot give you an explanation. I am not a programmer, neither have I worked on the engine. Ask him, maybe he'll give you an explanation.

"Visual overhaul", so that means they're adding more chickens this time like in MW3? Better yet add some birds that we can shoot out of the sky, then I actually might play the game.

Open source means it must be completely free to use. Some of the licenses state that if the open source code itself is changed that those changes must be made public. I'm not sure which open-source license Quake 3 was released with.

I have a question. When will they add recoil to the guns? Cause It seems pretty much everything after cod4 (i guess you could include cod4), there is like no recoil (or at least VERY little).

If you have played CoD:UO you would realize how little amount of recoil every weapon has in these past four or five games.
