Oh..you already got the 980? If not ..get a 960T..they clock higher and run cooler than Deneb.
As for the RAM..This RAM is pretty good:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147094
and 8 gb is sufficient.

One thing about the H100 as they use the same pump units as the H80s you might develop a grinding or a noise that sounds like an HDD writing, apparently this is due to to much voltage on the pump and the best way to solve it is with a fan controller than will cause voltage drop and run the pump correctly. I agree with the choice of the 980 as the IPC is better than Bulldozer, if you're gaming I'd see if you could trim back the RAM and invest it into a better GPU. There are a lot of good deals in the market of OCN if you don't mind buying used, you can pick up a 560ti for 160 which I would imagine that's what you're paying for the 6870, 570s and 6950s can be hard for under 230. Good luck on your build.

Thanks, guys. Here are a few pics while the system is apart. Please don't criticize the cable routing (yet). Its been undone to be redone.

Front:

Inside:

I hate non-functional things on the case. I chose the case because it has USB 3.0 plugs, but to use the3.0 card reader, which I will use frequently, I didn't have another plug-in on the MoBo. So I tentatively chose to run these 3.0 cables out the back of the case through the unused cooler ports to the 3.0 plugs in the back of the computer. Not the cleanest, I know, but my only option unless anyone has any others.

Finally, the HT100. The top didn't seem like the best location, but the side seemed like it would be perfect. It needs further shaping, but you get the idea.

So long story here. I hate it when this happens. When I was taking off the CPU cooler, the adhesion from the thermal paste between the base plate and the processor was a bit too strong...pulled processor with many bent pins, even though I thought I was sliding it to separate them. Also, mobo had a DOA lan port on arrival that I just worked around. Since the system was coming apart, I'm returning the mobo and I had to buy another CPU. I got another 980 (Sorry Schmuckley, hadn't yet gotten your reply about the 960T). Oh well. New mobo and CPU arrived this evening. Came with a BattleForge game. Not my style. Anyone want it?

Had a few days off work so I played around with the case mod a bit more. Its ready to assemble tomorrow. I'll post some pics. Not my first build, but with a n00b mistake like the above, I feel like it is. It is my first water cooled adventure and will be my first OC adventure, as well.

So most of it is put together. New mobo is in with new cpu and the RAM.

Question for those of you with this mobo. Should I go with the onboard LAN or keep my Intel card? Looking to minimize system resource utilization.

i dont think there is any difference between using the onboard lan and an expansion card. just another card to to lose a slot too. something you should be aware of, if your using onboard audio you could get a couple FPS difference in games if you use a discreet sound card vs the onboard audio. its been proven with amd for sure that you can get better fps in games that way and it might be the same way with intel...not 100% certain on that case but for sure amd it will make a difference. another thing I can tell you from experience...if your looking to get a cpu cooler off your chip easier without bent pins...the best way to do it is to run your pc for a bit and use intel burn test to heat up the thermal paste quite a bit and it will separate easier. I've been using that trick for a while and have never bent a pin ever.

Thanks for the help, Dt_Freak1.

I was unhappy with my case mod so I have a new Corsair case on the way. It will accept the H100 without any mods.

Regarding overclocking, this is where I am now: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2376714 And I am typing to you from the same computer. Anyone have any tips to go further? Anything I should dial back? I'm looking for a 24/7 overclock.

Thanks.
