Hey guys, i have the gd65 and was going through the BIOS and noticed that pcie gen3 was disabled by default, not sure why.

Also, anyone know what I should set the PCI Latency Timer at? I have a 7970. Thanks.

We have a winner! smile.gif
Took out my HD7750, connected a VGA cable, found that PCIe 3.0 was not enabled, thus no video there. As to why it will only push a signal out the VGA port before making any changes in UEFI, I've no clue.

The box is up and rocking now though. Still have some inexplicable lag with loading up certain processes, I'll post when I figure that out.

bios has some funny defaults, like when its hdmi and its unsure of the res to use it defaults to 800/600 which only shows half the onscreen options

other than a coupld of early niggles which i am sure they will fix in 1.4 bios i am happy with mine.

4.7ghz from the same volts i needed for 4.5 on my z68 d3 which is nice biggrin.gif

Glad to see a thread for these boards thumb.gif +rep for Sparkles. I have to say I love mine so far. Was easily able to overclock my i5 3570k to 4.8 GHz. I tried 5.0GHz but temps went from 65-75C to 95+ Oh well frown.gif

My z77a-gd55 lived fast & died young. Not really sure what it was, running fine on phase, pulled it out & mounted a pot to try colder & never POSTed again. Only thing I can think of is maybe I overtightened the mount.
z77a-gd65 should be in tomorrow, I'll have to be more careful with it...

networking issue

ok this is my first build so newbie alert, also I'm not sure if this is the correct sub forum if it isn't I apologize in advance:o

the goods

HAF922
i5 2500k
212+
MSI Z77A-GDU65
XFX 6870
8gb gskills 1600
OCZ 750 modular

okay so I have attempted installing both win 7 and XP from usb everything works, install chipset drivers, etc however the network drivers sucessfully install but I get a code 10 error saying network hardware cannot be detected.

I have tried every version of the

Intel 82579LM drivers, from MSI's website, MSI disk the mobo comes with, Intel itself...no joy.

again I'm a newbie I'm sure I could be doing something wrong but I don't know.

could this be a mother board issue?

thanks in advance.

it doesn't look like it to this newbie looking thru the BIOS, but don't quote me.

You install your sli bridge? Thats a pretty long distance for those short 2 way sli ones, so it makes me think you didn't put it on. You will get better performance getting the 2 cards next to each other as well, as the bottom slot is 4x while the next slot up is 16x. Theres also a 1 pci slot your leaving unused, so your cards wont be starved for air.
