It reads the dump files. Crash it again and watch the screen for the code as some crashes windows fails to log.. Also I have found cinebench a great program to check stability on IB. If it won't run then IBT and prime won't be stable. Once Cinebench runs all the way through IBT and prime are both stable for me.

I have honestly never used that program before. How long does a run take? I absolutely hate it say when I pass 400K in prime and fail on 128K like I am now, because that means that I have to wait another 15 minutes under new volts to see if the change even matters.

Like maybe 5 minutes. IBT is great for getting fast BSoDs if cinebench fails.

I ordered the GD65 this weekend but won't be getting the complete computer until next week. There isn't much talk about this board here on OCN and I was already worried that I made the wrong choice.

Hi Buddy, need NOT worry as it (GD65) is one of the best Z-77 boards for overclocking ATM,

Good Luck with it all.. (Geekerdom)

Sorry have you decided what GPU to use?

Quick question! Next to and between JFP1 and JFP2 pins is there suppose to be a single blue LED? I can't tell if that's static or a blue led /:

4.5Ghz Template without using any vcore mods!

This gives me solid performance, very cool temps, 100% stable, also uses power management to keep cpu under 30 degrees and uses latest 10.5 BIOS. Also posted this here
http://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=159647.0

1 hour of playing Diablo 3 temp history. You guys should really be utilizing turbo and power management how it is meant to be maintained, the days of disabling all the CPU features are long gone for gaming. This setup is cold, fast and wont smash your power bill.

So I give up on trying to get past 4.8. Seems like not only do I need to dump a lot of voltage to hit 4.8 anything beyond that is going to require an overvolt beyond Intels max recommended. Currently I'm sitting at 4.8 @ 1.432 on load and @ 1.46 in bios. Vdroop is at 100% and PLL is 1.5. I'm going to start looking into the I/O voltage to see what the max is and see if bumping it slightly has any effect on stability.

*edit* Forgot to mention temps are at 65

Really thinking about getting this board. I haven't ever pushed my 2500K past the comfy 4.5@1.3v it's been at since pretty much day one. Would it really be a decent upgrade? I like the idea it's newer gen, I love the look much better than my P67a-gd65, and love no PCI slots...tongue.gif

EDIT: Oh, and that BIOS looks sick! smile.gif

With a p67 gd65 & a 2500k I don't think going to z77 is too much of an upgrade, native usb 3.0 would be about the only difference besides the different BIOS & look/layout of the board itself.
One other thing I did notice between the p67 gd65 & z77 gd65 was the failed OC recovery, when I would OC the memory too far on the p67 it would get into a boot loop without recovering, requiring clearing cmos, pulling battery & memory, fun stuff. The z77 does do the 3 attempts & then restart with failed OC & let me back into the bios to change things. They may have fixed it with a bios update but that was the main thing I disliked about the p67 gd65.

I received my GD65 Friday and the LAN port isn't initializing.. Error 10 or something.. I've posted to MSI and in there broken English they have suggested an RMA.. I've just installed an PCI-ex NIC for the time being.. Any ideas? I've installed uninstalled etc... a thousand times... or just ignore it.. It seems to be a common occurrence ?
