Hello I have tried searching and have had no luck as of yet ...
I recently just upgraded from bios 1.40 to 1.50 on my gd55 and when i shut down my pc, the power light stays on, on my board.
I flashed back to 1.40 and it shuts down perfectly fine? anyone else experience this issue?
^ I'm using the 10.5 and have never had such a problem, with stock clocks or overclocked.

Anyway I got to play arround with the mobo and 3770K and managed to get two stable builds. First is 4.6GHz with 1.26 vcore and second 4.8GHz with 1.31. Ran about 2 and 4 hours of prime95 on them, 10-20 runs on linx at maximum memory and it looks fine. Probably neither of them are 100% 24hour prime stable, but for gaming and benchmarking I think I'm good. Ram is set at 2133 cas11, CR 1T, and max temps in prime were 83 on the 4.6GHz and 90 on the 4.8GHz.... it is kind of too hot but then again I'm living in the hottest summer of the last 50 years in my country.

Does anyone know, say when the next uefi build comes up for updating, will I loose all my saved overclocking profiles?

Hello there smile.gif I posted in the CPU section, but no one has bothered with my topic for a few days, so I thought I'd post in here where guys with similar Motherboards hang out tongue.gif

I have the motherboard MSI Z77A-G45.

Does anyone know why Real Temp shows my CPU running 3500-4000MHz clock during idle, meanwhile CPU-Z shows it as 1600Mhz idle, and 4000 MHz during load?
(I want the CPU to use as little power when idle)

I have been running stable Prime 95 now for a few hours with 4.0 Ghz OC, but doesn't my Vcore seem extremely low?
1.16 V during full Prime95 Load. Temps around 55-60degrees C. 1.18 V during idle. 1.19 V set in Bios

RealTemp shows something called VID, and the value is about 1.4061 during full load and around 1.3xx during idle.
What is VID?

And, what is suggested when it comes to Vdroop? Can it damage the CPU?
My current values:

CPU Ratio: 40
Internal PLL Overvoltage: Auto
EIST: Enabled
Intel Turbo Boost: Enabled

Vdroop Offset COntrol: +87.5%
CPU core Voltage: 1.19 V
CPU PLL Coltage: 1.80000 V

C1E support: Enabled
Overspeed Protection: Enabled
Intel C-state: Disabled

Thanks in Advance smile.gif

Hey bud,

Here is some info on VID:
http://www.overclock.net/t/251112/cpu-vid
http://www.overclock.net/t/1238019/what-is-cpu-vid

Info on vdroop:
http://www.overclock.net/t/197804/what-is-vdroop

As for the CPU running at that frequency during idle, best thing to do is check what processes are using CPU usage in task manager > processes.

Does it will change anything is I replace my Scythe Mugen 2 Rev B by the default stock intel cooler with temperatures ?

Because now I think that's too big and I wanna see the beauty of my motherboard

I didn't overclocked

Anybody willing to help me overclock? I have a Z77A-gd55 and a 3570k with an H100. I was messing around with it a little bit yesterday, and got to 4.6GHz on 1.32v. I couldn't get to 4.7GHz, not even at 1.4v. I didn't really mess with any other settings like PLL voltage because tbh, I don't know what any of them do. And that's why I need assistance. We can talk on skype.
Thanks
Try not to go over 1.3v with Ivy Bridge CPU's

And youll need to enable PLL Overvoltage for anything past 4.5ghz

Also Disable Overspeed Protection

If you're not overclocked then stock will be fine.
