If you have done everything, try contacting customer support (Like they will help any) but it couldn't hurt. You may have to RMA the board which sucks just for a network adapter. If you can live with it, pick up a cheap pci-e network card. Rose will i know had one on sale on newegg for as little as 10 shipped. Or pick up a wifi dongle and forget about it.

One more question... Did you plug in an Ethernet cord before you installed the driver for it? Or did you get the driver from another computer an installed it before you plugged in the ethernet cord?

I believe so. Don't quote me on that.

If you are having that much trouble with hardware, ram, and networking... I would RMA it.

Thanks. I gave tech support a call and they said it is most likely caused by a short. Does that sound right to you? Couldn't a short destroy my whole mobo?

Sure.

In theory ESD can short out an entire electrical component making it inoperable. However, with todays technology and how far everything has come a long... ESD is highly unlikely to happen unless you are completely careless.

With that being said. Tell MSI that you are going to RMA their faulty product and you would like a replacement because it is not working as intended. Period. Sometimes companies will try and blame everything on the user. Claiming its your fault. Just RMA the dang thing. LOL

Go into BIOS and click MSI Mainboard settings on left. Its a big tab. You should then see System status, advanced, boot, and save&exit. Double click or press enter on Advanced. In advanced, double click or press enter on "hardware monitor." Then you will see where you can control your system fans.

Look at your manual as well. It is in there clear as day.
