[Official] MSI Z77A Owners/Discussion/Information/Support Thread and Club (GD65, GD55, G45, ...) - Page 70

I have tried disconnecting everything but the CPU and PSU, no boot.
Adding 1 of the 4 RAM sticks caused a couple of power on - off loops and then I got the message my hardware was changed and I had to enter the BIOS Setup.
After accepting changes in the bios it reboots but doesn't get to BIOS anymore.

Also tried another PSU without succes.

I have tried clearing the cmos now.
The computer now powers on for a few seconds and then powers off, this loops to infinity. :'(

I've never performed a bios update. To flash I'd have to be able to get inside the bios first.

I'm afraid it seems to be the MOBO that is causing the problems.

I've got the same motherboard with the exact same problem. Started about a month ago. Really like it and hate to have to replace it. I did get 4 years out of it. Guess they don't last forever.

That's exactly what was happening to me months ago after I change my case, luckily it booted after I've tightened the psu & cpu eps connector to mobo.

It's worrying that all 3 of us experiencing the same problem frown.gif

Last night I let it continue the power on - off loop and after what must've been 15 minutes it finally booted.
So that to me seems like it might also be temperature related.

Today I'll get some contact cleaner and remove any and all dust.
After that I'll strip the case bare, reseat the CPU and start from scratch and hope to find a certain state that causes the issue.

I'm not too hopeful but I'll keep you guys posted if miracles happen thumb.gif

I doubt it's temperature related, seems the mobo doesn't have enough juice to power up.

How's it now after it booted last night ?

Back to the first state.
Powers on, no bios / post and HDD & DVD leds keep blinking.
It also takes atleast 5 seconds after pressing the power button before the system will power on.

Time to tear it apart.thinking.gif
