Opinions needed: Which RAM to run..?

Ok, finally got my system finished to the specs that I desired (see below) but now I'm kinda hung up on something, and I need to hear some input from the friendly Overclock.net crew...

These are my options, as I currently have both here at home, and am gonna RMA whichever one I decide against. 2gb kits of both...

Crucial Anniversary Ed. PC2-5300 (667) 3-3-3-12 @ 2.2v overclocks nicely

G.Skill PC2-6400 (800) 4-4-4-12 @ 1.9v but I cant seem to get it to run at that. I've gotten it up to 852mhz oc'ing the FSB, but the latencies are allways 5-5-5-15.

what would you guys go for, the lower latency/lower speed or the higher latency/higher speed? I've read in several places that lower latency is almost always better if you can acheive even a slight overclock on slower ram. Is this right? Or should I go with the G.Skill, OC it, and try to play with the latency settings? I'm still pretty new to OC'ing as far as RAM goes, so any help here would be great. Thanks!

This is NOT anything that you need opionions on. You need to go to the mfg web site. They have a memory configerater, there you can see which model of thier memory is guaranteed to be compatable with your MB.

well, the reason I asked the question in the first place is because I'm not entirely familiar with the workings of RAM, I do know that PC2 RAM is based on GB per second, which means the higher the better. But I've read that lower timings can mean much quicker ram, even if it has a lower transfer rate. Thus, the reason for my question -> would a slightly lower transfer rate (5.3gb/s instead of 6.4gb/s) with much better timings be the more popular decision?

I took the only opinion I got to heart, and decided to go for the Crucial, and guess what... not only is my system faster with the "slower" ram, but it is actually running @ better than the mfg's posted specs, also better than the motherboard mfg's specs stated it should.

Compatability charts arent "always" accurate, if you can tweak your system, and arent afraid to make some changes (whether you know the outcome or not) you may end up with effects that nobody (including the mfg.) had expected or seen before, as in my case.

Funny thing is, the main reason I picked up the Crucial in the first place was because it was "Ltd. Edition" and I had heard good things about Crucial from my cousin who swears by it. Just so happened that newegg placed it on the main page the day they started carrying it, and I ordered it... the rest is now history. Only thing I liked about the G.Skill that I had was the cool glow-in-the-dark sticker that came with it, and the packaging was really neat. Aside from that I was not impressed at all.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

The Micron D9 chips are excellent. You will find them in many High Performance DDR2 modules including of course some Crucial, and also some GIEL both of which OC like mad and have run up to DDR2 1100. Unsure if G.Skill has them or what models may have them. The HZ series of G.Skill seem to do well so who know whats hiding under the HS's.
