Rocket clearly stated that you won't get in trouble for having spawn weapons, but spawning them in yourself will get you banned.

Nope. Rocket has said that they can determine who actually spawns any given piece of gear. Also, when they look through the database, they can tell which gear is genuine and which is hacked, but the only difference is that they'll pay more attention to the people with a lot of hacked gear. There's no trouble for using hacked gear if you're playing legitimately, but if you're alt-F4ing and stuff, they're more likely to notice, because they've got their eye on you. He's explicitly said that the only people eligible for bans for hacked gear are the people spawning it, not the people using it.

Nuh, several posts on the forums (from Rocket and other admins/staff) stating that you can not get in trouble for having scripted in gear, only if you script it in yourself.

People with scripted gear may be put under close watch, but I play 100% legit, except when facing scripters (I alt+F4 the second I see something suspicious, I've lost too much gear and time to script kiddies) so no worries there.

Well, I say that, and then I can't find the reference, so take that with a grain of salt. I'll post it when I find it, though, because it's legit.

Found it for you! http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/46844-hackers/#entry446536

It's so nice playing the game in a newbie kind of way again. When you max out on all of the high level gear then lose it all to someone hacking (killing the entire server instantly, spawning you in the air, spawning you in a thunderdome) makes the game more annoying than anything. Running around Cherno/Elektro with just an AK74 and a pack full of medical supplies is way more fun. Help anyone who claims friendly, shoot those who shoot first. I could go back to our camp with 7 vehicles and tents full of loot at any moment, but I'd much rather play the game this way! The only thing that I've yet to experience is some good clan on clan action. I saw a few videos on Youtube of a clan engaging another clan, killing them and stealing their vehicle, then luring them into a trap at Devil's Castle to regain their stolen jeep. The video wasn't that great because the recorder was covering the back entrance, but the entire video was intense as they were being surrounded on different sides and outnumbered. Looked a lot more fun than "Lets zerg the NWAF and hope to not die."

Found it. (And then someone else posts it 30 seconds before I do, of course)

PS. I think the hackers name is "Mike", I just took him out from the ground with an AS50. May not be him though because I found a chopper randomly earlier.

No

This rumour has no basis to it whatsoever.

Using a hacked vehicle/weapon will identify you during database analysis, and your character may receive special logging attention in the database, but you will not receive a ban without creating them yourself.
