The mass slaying on 1992 has been taken care of. The person behind it has been caught and banned.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Allan

There are plenty of undetected scripts and hacks, it is sad how Battleye can't even handle them, it's plagued.

Oh but it does, I'm constantly providing support to other Admins.. The first line of failure is anyone who bought into a managed server, the second most common failure is a simple lack of information, and the final is poor implementation. The game is in alpha, the engine is swiss cheese, and we're involved in a constantly evolving battle. From the back end we're making big progress and there should be some exciting new community developed anti-hack solution soon.

This is a great point most new to ArmA players don't know or choose to accept.

Can you have multiple passwords or unique logins or anything? That would be perfect.

I can't give a date because of complications with our host but we've got Lingor Island already among a few other surprises.

A hacker just hit 1992 again, wiped out half the server.
But kcuestag, the game is fun and constantly getting better. Don't let hackers 'win' and push you out of a fun game. Gearing up is where all the fun is at since there's not much of an end-game yet. Don't get so attached to your gear, and look at starting over as an adventure, not a chore redface.gif Come back, the survivors need you wave2.gif

We're as close as you can get, there's one more thing I'm testing on 1993 but there haven't been enough people to ban lately. rolleyes.gif

Also the CBL had a 300+ GUID backlog of which we submitted over 80 alone and it all got committed hours ago. Things continue to get better, I can't wait to get that list! wheee.gif They're commit bans practically instantly now.

Has there been any changes to gear lately? it's been about a month since I've played. Getting the gear was a "chore"...I would have like to have started with a simple club so I had a way to QUIETLY defend against a lone Zed that caught wind of me or take one out that was sitting on top of some gear. The mod\game was pretty lack luster in this department...spend an hour crawling around on my belly until I actually find a weapon just to get seen by a Zed and then you get to do it all over again unless you get lucky enough to shake them. I was getting decent at loosing them, but about half the times I did loose the zombies I'd die to a player that saw me running with a train of zombies...

Oh how I miss that crowbar I found once...that was my only "life" that lasted for many days. It has been the only melee weapon I've found in the game...a blunt object should not be that hard to find.

I've been finding the actual ARMA 2 game surprisingly entertaining though.

Changes in the past month? Well, nothing major I don't think. Mostly just little things that have been taken care of. The hatchet is one melee weapon that's found everywhere. Like along the coast I go into a building and there's literally a hatchet laying in every corner. And they don't seem to let off a loud gunshot everytime you swing them now, which was annoying but taken care of. Spawns are more balanced now, zombies don't always spot you from a mile away, the spawning in ocean / debug forest seems to have stopped. I would pick it up again, you'll enjoy it thumb.gif

Oh and the OCN servers, US 1992 and US 1993, run amazingly well. Hackers appear but don't last long thanks to the awesome admins running the server (as you can see in the posts above) and the ping has never been above 42 for me.
