It is. It's the main reason for the 4-hour resets, and often a targeted shortly after dusk/dawn reset. The reason I know this is because one of the DayZ devs explained it on the forum...
It does happen. Constantly. Next time you're playing and it gets dark after a while, disconnect to lobby and reconnect. It'll be daylight again.

For people who want perfect 90 Degree field of view for 1920 x 1080:

90° horizontal FOV @ 1920 x 1080 = 59° vertical FOV.
90 degrees = 1.57079633 radians
59 degrees = 1.02974426 radians

Your CLIENT plays the time out. Every single server is on a reset cycle between 4 and 8 hours, even yours.

Fun with vehicles. Specifically, fun with someone else's car and someone else's bus.

Hey guys I got a couple of questions about this game if anyone can help. I have a retail copy of Arma 2 on disc which I've had for years. For this mod I also need to have Operation Arrowhead from what I understand. I can't register my retail copy on Steam so if I install it, can I then buy Operation Arrowhead on Steam and get them to work together, or should I just buy Operation Arrowhead on disc? Also I'm just wondering if there are any servers that have limited PvP abilities/areas? I've been watching a lot of videos and one of the things that seems to be most disheartening for players is when they spend ages getting absorbed/immersed into the games atmosphere and gathering equipment only to be killed without warning by someone who just wants to play deathmatch. Doesn't seem like there's enough incentive for people to help eachother out so I'm hoping they figure something out with future versions.

I've overall been enjoying this mod. The only thing thats bugging me at the moment is the fact that 99% of players appear to just shoot you on site regardless. It gets irritating. I don't want to shoot players I see on site, but I know if they see me they will shoot me, and it seems everyone has this same thought. I generally just try to let players go past me so I don't have to shoot them but I'm starting to lose patience with it.

That's exactly how I imagine it. It's just like life where a small number of greedy people end up corrupting the rest and ruining the whole thing!
