I've been trying to get an answer from Gigabyte and they refuse to answer. Newegg states it's just not scheduled for re-order in the near future. If Tiger and others "run out" in the next month or so I would guess maybe a new Rev. of the UD7 is being released but this is purely speculation on my part. You may want to e-mail Gigabyte and see if you can get an answer. They told me to contact Newegg...

IIRC the UD7 had bad vdroop problems related to the hardware (VRMs I think) that no BIOS updates could fix.

edit: Sin did a video on how to fix it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNkAQB7ONh4

So hopefully Gigabyte is releasing a new PCB revision or discontinuing it for a new SKU that doesn't have the vdroop problem.

BIOS updates fixed that on all the 990FXA models from what I have read????

If you look at the comments on Youtube for that video apparently the issue was still prevalent in F7 bios. It's the second most recent bios and was released in December of last year. If the issue was still present on bios F7 I think it's a hardware issue no bios can fix, because surely Gigabyte knew about the problem since F3 or even earlier.

Sin0822 would be the guy who knows this better than I do, I'm not 100% sure.

It depends on who you talk to I guess? We'll have to wait to see what they do with the UD7.

Doesn't AMD have a new chipset scheduled for release soon? .. I didn't think the release was imminent, but if it is, Gigabyte might have a replacement scheduled for the UD7.

Pure speculation here, maybe someone can comment on this.

I am not aware that AMD plans to release a new chipset for the discrete desktop CPUs using socket AM3+ mobos. The FM2 mobos will have a new A85 chipset.

Maybe if we all e-mail Gigabyte thay will answer the question on the UD7? It's an odd way to conduct business that's for sure.

Gigabyte just dropped the ball with 990FX. Bad performance plus being late to the game with UEFI. Decent enough gaming board but for the price of the UD7 there where much better offerings from Asus and ASRock.

I think opinions vary on this as there are a lot of very happy Gigabyte customers using 990 chipset mobos. Neither Asus nor Asrock would be at the top of MY list of mobo suppliers but that's not what this thread is about so let's stay on topic - if anyone knows the deal on the UD7.

I have e-mailed Gigabyte Sales to see if we can get an answer on the UD7. I suggest other folks do the same.
