Temps on 4800+

i've put together a SUPER cheap build for a friend using an Athlon x2 4800+

I'm using the Stock heatsink, I've tried 2 different fans

but I'm still getting temps of around 75c+

just in games (Assassins Creed II ect...) just idling I'm getting anywhere from 35-45c

running on an OEM hp mobo
vista 32bit
2 sticks of ram (2gb and 1gb sticks)

any Ideas, I've tried reseating the heat sink

any other Ideas?

I think those are normal temperatures for that kind of chip. I had the 4200+ and iirc, it ran relatively hot. Have you looked at the thermal paste?

I did it was kinda dry/cracked, I replaced it with new stuff just generic TIM cant seem to find any of my MX-4

but it didnt seem to change the temps...anyone know what max temps on this chip are?

well this says 49-65 i had the 5000+ but it was am2 and i had the a tower cooler it didnt go over 40c on core so i would just look in to a better cooler as 75c is way to high

Temps on 4800+
