silent hill 2 is pretty good

except the directors cut for PC gives you a chainsaw in the first few minutes. makes the scare factor go away xD

I didn't even know that was on PC. For the absolute scariest, I'll have to go with Amnesia, followed closely by Penumbra and then Silent Hill. Doom, Dead Space, and FEAR aren't the least bit scary so don't waste time with those unless you want a shooter.
