nv4_dispNo Matter what Drivers on my 7600 GT

Thread Starter
Well i found out why, in my games my computer would look up for 40 seconds and make the same noise, i got the nice infin loop erro nv4_disp, i did some reserach and though changing the driver would help

eVGA G-Force 76000 GT PCI 256

NO matter what drivers i run, it happens

System info in Rig, I am now runing a legit windows Xp SP2 with all up dates as well

Here are the drivers i have tryed
and I ALWAYS run Driver CLeaner Pro 4 times in Windows
Uninstall card
I have even done switching them up Uninstall then Clean
Boot in Safe, Run Driver clean pro 3 times
Boot normal run driver clean pro
Boot normal and install drivers

Here are the drivers that all work fine, but all of them the same Error, some take longers then other to give me Nv4 but so far all have.

XTreme-G 91.45 (can do about 15 mins then locks up)
XTreme-G 92.91 (can do like 20 mins then locks up Nv4)
84.21_forceware_winxp2k_english_whql (about 5 mins)
91.47_forceware_winxp2k_english_whql (lock up in 2 mins)
84.43_forceware_winxp2k_international (can do about 20 mins but reders funny so i changed to the 92.91 Xtreme witch works a bit smoother for me)
Forceware_win2kxp.v81.26_WHQL[www.TweaksRUs.com] (5 mins)
nVidia Forceware 85.13 installer (10 mins)
nVidia Forceware 87.25 (10 mins)

It's not like i havn't done the driver cleaner on everything and TIRED different Drivers they all do the same thing, I have done CLEAN formating and doing 92.91 witch has been working the best for me, and it's still the same error.

What can i do

This is the only problem with my computer, I Really just want to trade for 7600 GT for a ATI card maby a bit better with cash on top if anyone is done, becuase it's only in games this happens, everything else is fine

and before you ask, I am OCing my computer 6400 on air 2.8ghz @ 41, and i though maby my card is over heating, no it says around 50 to 59 c under streess test so that can't be it, how can i fix this

Also It would do the same thing with my older 19 inch CTR

The game play before is great, it's very sharp and runs like a champ, it's not about 40 secons it's about 5 to 20 mins into the game, games look up about for 1 min play for 2 mins, lock up for 40 seconds play for 2 mins, after about 10 or so lock ups, i get the Nv4 error

If you are able to play games for a while THEN experience problems, it is not a bad IRQ address or anthing with your resolution settings.

It sounds more like a problem with other hardware (especially after you tried different drivers. Honestly, this should have fixed the problem). Here are some ideas. ( I know you have allready done some of these)
1. Check your temps during gameplay (cpu and video card).
2. Also, if you are overclocking.... how stable is your system. Your temps may be ok, but have system stability issues. Is your ram, cpu, and card all stable? If not, that also could be a problem.
3. There are programs out there that can help you test some stuff out.
4. If you do not want to download anyting, just "undo" everything you have OC'd and play some games for awhile and see if you still experiance any problems.
5. I really feel it may be software related in your case, even though allready have done a lot in this catagory. Try this if you can. Reinstall windows and your card's drivers. Try out a few games and see if this fixes the problems.
6. Lastly, if everything checks out good.... RMA your card and get a new one. I have no more ideas. I know Nvidia cards are kind of sensative sometimes.

All I can say is Check, Check, Check. Obviously something is causing your problems. I too had problems with a video card and went through 3 different cards (different brands), a new motherboard, and a new powersupply. It ended up being the dang mouse. Weird that a stupid mouse could cause sooo many problems. The IRQ was fine, but swapped the mouse and everhthing was smooth as butta LOL!! At least I can laugh at it now. DO NOT GIVE UP!! You can find a solution.

It sounds more like a problem with other hardware (especially after you tried different drivers. Honestly, this should have fixed the problem). Here are some ideas. ( I know you have allready done some of these)
1. Check your temps during gameplay (cpu and video card). This I have also done, it about 52 to 55 idel, i have 3 case fans a 120mm and 80mm and a 80mm side fan, i have it set up very nice for cooling, on a air rig. i put 2x monitors so i can look at the temps, gets to 61 64 underload.
2. Also, if you are overclocking.... how stable is your system. Your temps may be ok, but have system stability issues. Is your ram, cpu, and card all stable? If not, that also could be a problem. My Computer is very stable PRIME stable that is and i have also tryed runing it not Overclocked, my ram is Cosair PC 800, i did the ram test all good, it's only 3d games, becuase games like starcraft don't crash at all, and it can incode videos and rip dvd's very fast, i really like the dual core, but just mad at my 7600 GT.
3. There are programs out there that can help you test some stuff out.
4. If you do not want to download anyting, just "undo" everything you have OC'd and play some games for awhile and see if you still experiance any problems. Done that

^^ I think i'm going to have to RMA the damn card, it has to be this. But im going to sell it and get a ATI. I'm suck of the bull**** Nvidia puts people throw.

All I can say is Check, Check, Check. Obviously something is causing your problems. I too had problems with a video card and went through 3 different cards (different brands), a new motherboard, and a new powersupply. It ended up being the dang mouse. I'm open to more idea's good advice, i have done most of it tho.
