AMD not having an option to toggle FXAA in the CCC is a real dealbreaker for me, FXAA increases FPS by heaps

FXAA shouldn't increase FPS, If anything it should decrease it just like running any form or AA does.
It doesnt increase fps however it has by far the lowest hit of any form of AA

Yea that's what i meant to say. I prefer to play high quality games with AA on, i've read that FXAA gives as much as 20 FPS difference compared to MSAA :O

I do prefer SMAA over FXAA for injecting anti-aliasing manually into games.. It's just as light but (IMO) gives a better IQ as a result. Less smudging.

http://mrhaandi.blogspot.com/p/injectsmaa.html for an easy means to do so.

I'd say it can decrease framerate by up to 40% in the right engines. At 200 fps, that's an 80 fps hit.

You don't know AMDs MLAA has been available for far longer than Nvidia's FXAA?
Wow, the ignorance.

Thanks for that, i might try it out. A bit of a hassle to inject it every time you start the game though

That's not necessary. You can either add the files to the affected games' folders permanently or make batch start scripts that move the files to the game folder for as long as you play it, should you also want to retain a hassle-free non-SMAA startup option. wink.gif
