Okay, I will adapt my previous statement:

The GTX 690 is capable of a "soft" overclock at 1200mhz (considering they used the slider tool) in which, the same situation, under water, the 680 is capable of 1300-1400mhz; sometimes higher.

Which, surprisingly isn't shown in comparison to the OC'd 690...Go figure.

I'm not saying it's a bad card, as a vendor, I'm stocking them...But, the reality is that, it's the same technology so, the same limiting factors apply...and 680's still have a much higher roof so, while it's a good card, I'll stick to tri-sli 680's thumb.gif

I have never seen a 680 at 1400mhz without an add-on voltage board.

That's kind of a big deal compared to 680's that can hit 1300-1400 on water.
I realize the 690 on water MAY be able to hit 1200/1300 but, still, the 680's use more power because they have a higher boost/capabilities so, there are valid reasons as to why it uses more power...

The current record on a reference NVIDIA card is 1444MHZ.

Zotac's model easily hits 1.4 ~ Sometimes 1.5 : http://videocardz.com/31645/zotac-geforce-gtx-680-extreme-edition-features-1-2ghz-clock

Guru got the stock 680 to 1300mhz + ~ My personal 680's on water do 1350, I'm sure more if I chose to challenge that...

MSI is supposed to have an OC'd version as is EVGA...So, 1.4-1.5 will be the norm soon enough...

And 1444MHZ is the retail record...Not including what's already available at an ES or vendor level thumb.gif ~ Better clocks are coming very soon tongue.gif

As far as I know the only card capable of that without a board is the new Zotac with unlocked vcore. I know there is a link somewhere in the hardware news forum.

Edit: got ninja.gif
