Kepler and Ivy Bridge falling short in BF3? - Page 15

The only choices are adaptive and maximum...so yes it's on maximum. And as far as precisionX...yes I do have it installed....no the framerate cap is not on...even if it was it would've capped my bc2 performance and I wouldn't have gotten such low mins. And again...I have my 680 overclocked as well...something isn't adding up. I highly doubt the processor has anything to do with it based upon the consistancy of results from amd to high(er) end intel. It has to be some sort of internal setting or hardware malfunction...

So it would seem. I would say try for an RMA

I'll try re-installing evga's drivers after work and if that doesn't work I think I'll call evga and see what they can do.

Well, your max frame rates with and without VSYNC are all hitting the same frame rate. It's most likely something to do with software - your graphics score is also right on in 3DM11 and BC2 is screaming.

I wouldn't RMA the card, it's just going to give you the same results. You might want to toy around with the NVCP vsync options and different software, like Afterburner, older drivers ect. It's one of those tedious software issues, it's definitely not hardware favoring one game over the other, hardware doesn't care.

Also I would reinstall BF3 and start clean since your other scores seem to be average

Its definitely not the card, your 3dmark scores and BFBC2 scores look right where they should, theres a problem with BF3, try "gametime.maxvariablefps 120" in the bf3 console sans quotes, it may be set at 63 right now for some reason

I can't remember did you also do a fresh Win 7 install?

BF3 (HT enabled/ Vsync enabled): Avg...58.8 Min...25 Max...63
(HT enabled/ Vsync disabled): Avg...59.8 Min...46 Max...63
(HT disabled/ Vsync disabled): Avg...59.4 Min...45 Max...63
BF:BC2 Avg...125.6 Min...82 Max 195
Is there some sort of power limitation I don't know about??? The fact that my fps never rises above 63 is bizzare to say the least. I should be averaging 65ish right? with maxes up to 70-75? I don't understand...
PS there was extra drivers included in the motherboard's driver CD for the intel chipset that included pci management or something like that.

Was Vsync disabled in nvidia control panel as well?

Also, is that a good framerate for BF:BC2? I have no reference point...

And, for the record, I have no idea what's wrong redface.gif It's an interesting problem, though.

Yeah I really don't have any complaints thus far with anything else I guess. It's looking like BF3 may be the problem. I'll try inputting that command into the console in an hour.
And yes this is a fresh install of everything due to the motherboard and processor...thought it would be a good idea to finally rid myself of all amd drivers lol
Vsync was set to controlled by application...and it was disabled on both games

Something I noticed both you and the other person with similar problems had was the Sabertooth Z77 motherboard. Other people have the same setup but different motherboard and seem to mostly be having no problems.

Also nowhere in this thread has the mention of CPU heat come up. It could very well be that his processor was/is overheating and dropping from 3.5 to the 3.0 as a safeguard. But alas that wouldn't give the static 63fps max that he is getting in BF3.

I would really like to see some graphs of afterburner while he is in bf3. FPS, core and mem, gpu usage, and gpu temp. <--- will tell alot on whether it is a problem with your gpu or not.
