Gigabyte UD3R crossfire question

So I got myself another 5870 and wanna install it on this motherboard to crossfire. Which of the slots are best? AFAIK there are only 2 x16 ) no idea what 16 means ) and the other 2 are x8. What does that mean? On which slot should I install my 5870s and why?

You can run them in anyway you want, you wont see the difference between 16x and 8x trust me. Run the cards in the 1st pci-e port and the last pic-e slot. IF you have a crossfire bridge that is long enough.. if not run them in the 2nd and last slot, the 2 16x slots might be to tight for the cards to breathe.

1ST is 16x
2ND is 8X
3RD is 16x

The one us ASUS and the other sapphire. What is the procedure on running them in crossfire? Do I have to change some settings or what?

the brand does not matter just go to your ATI catalyst control center and enable the crossfire.

Hey guys. So I am having problems with my other sapphire 5870. I tried to run it alone without the asus in Xfire but all i got was a white screen with dots on vga and on HDMI nothing. monitor didnt recognise the graphic card. That was on boot btw so i can install any drivers and what not. I installed the drivers with my asus though, but with the sapphire it wont display anything. the seller on ebay claimed it was working fine, Whats the problem? I paid through bank transfer. Can I get my money back through ebay? What should I do ? frown.gif Looks like i was sold a dead 5870 and 45 days have passed so i cant solve the problem through ebay. only with the seller
