This, the first few paragraphs pretty much point towards a lame wow esque roller coaster game with a static boring world. Pass.

You can't do something or go some places in the game unless you're appropriately levelled up, just like a regular MMO. ZeniMax is "keeping large areas inaccessible to save them for use as expansion content". Only "some fraction" of the caves and other landmarks in the game are waiting completely unmarked and unexplored. You can't own a house because it's "too hard to implement in an MMO". NPC characters don't run on the same schedules they do in the main games.

The moronic thing is that all of this has been done in mmo's before and quite successfully. You'd think that modern MMO designers have only ever played wow before, and are totally ignorant of older games that were nothing like wow. Anarchy Online, Asherons Call, EVE Online and duh Ultima Online seemed to have never existed.

Thats because they spent the majority of their studying life playing WoW between classes. Silly tongue.gif

Really tho, the vast majority of these MMO guys don't know diddly squat. They just copy eachother.

ZeniMax is "keeping large areas inaccessible to save them for use as expansion content". NPC characters don't run on the same schedules they do in the main games.

So, NPC's don't wonder around. You can't own a house. I bet you can't steal everything that isn't nailed down, you probebly can't murder everyone in sight, AND theres an actual Leveling system? Didn't pretty much the entire Elder Scrolls series try to break away from the standard leveling grind. Why is this even fit to bare the name? Shocking to say the least!

I'm not even going to touch this one, I'm already playing WoW, Rift, Lotro, EvE Online and to be perfectly honest I'm getting quickly bored of the former three. Even if they give copies of this away I'm not playing on it.

I just wished they'd given more thought to the actual game than the profit-turning path everyone chooses. mad.gif

This. Looks. Awful.

Like every other cookie-cutter MMO on the market, and unlike any Elder Scrolls game in existence.

*edit* I swear... if ZeniMax divert resources from the next proper Elder Scrolls game into this MMO, I'm going to lose a little bit of faith in PC gaming.

Factions are certainly a step in the wrong direction, but depending on how they implement it, they could be no big deal. I mean EVE has factions...

2 faction games are BS.

3 faction games are much more balanced.

Because if one faction is underpopulated or getting beat on, the 3rd faction becomes a wildcard in shifting territory control.

If one faction is underpopulated in a 2 faction game, they just get beat on until they leave.

Want to see a good example of this? Warhammer was perfect.

in WAR, on my old server, the opposing faction locked us out of our main city twice a day because they would exploit the game and crash servers and other junk to keep us from winning. They would field about twice as many players at any given time, and generally cheat us out of victory.

In WAR if you killed the king, the opposing faction got locked out of their home city for about 8 hours or so, add that to the 2 hours you got locked out while they performed the final raid to even get to the king, and you get a recipe for lame.

Eventually everyone got tired of it and rolled somewhere else, and then the winning side left completely because they got tired of winning all day. It sucked.
