And.... ?

My biggest fear is that this game will end up being too much like wow. I do have faith, given Bethesda's history of sandbox games with de-emphasized story lines that we'll see the first great open sandbox mmo in ages. Please don't copy anything wow does.

sounds nothing like WoW....it is clearly cut from the DAoC cloth as well as sharing some elements with the Asheron's Call and Guild Wars games. they even have a former DAoC lead heading it up.

the only real problem for fans is that it sounds nothing like Elder Scrolls.

I love Bethesda games, but that's after 100+ mods. I don't know how I'd like an unmoddable MMO that probably crashes every other time you open a door.

80% Chance it is a very mediocre MMO that doesn't capture the TES magic

15% Chance it is absolute crap

5% Chance it is mind-blowingly awesome

Hoping for the 5%, planning for the 80%.

I concur, since it isn't Bethesda making it there is a chance it could be any of those, but most likely(as you said) either a different game or crap.

Yep, there isn't even a New Vegas way to do things here by just using a lot of assets and changing up the story. This is a page one write up of an Elder Scrolls games.

Also, I'm a lore nerd, I wonder if it will be canon?

Honestly that's just as bad. I didn't play DAoC, or Guild Wars, but AC would be a move in the right direction. The crucial issue here is will the MMO version have the same open world sandbox gameplay that the Elder Scrolls series is known for. Factions are certainly a step in the wrong direction, but depending on how they implement it, they could be no big deal. I mean EVE has factions...

Still unsure about how I feel about this...been a long time TES fan, and I like how epic the singleplayer is (e.g. having more than one Nerevarine at a time would be...awkward). Agreed that Fallout would've been a fun world to do this in.

I have faith in Bethesda, though...hope they do this right.

I guess you didn't read the posts a few pages back. Bethesda Game Studios has no part in this game whatsoever. It is being produced entirely by ZeniMax Media's own company ZeniMax Online Studios, therefore no resources have/are being taken away from TES VI or the new Fallout game because BGS has no part in it.

Sounds cool, but would rather play a Fallout MMO. Or better yet straight up Fallout 4.
