Sounds like a great time for them to open their eyes and use Linux. But no....that would be more difficult than b17ching about being gouged.

It's just dumb luck getting the damn thing to work great. My rig works flawlessly with any distro I've tired. My GF's new rig had some real issues (that I think are related to the GPU) to the point where I gave up. It wasn't quite Linux being unreliable but it wasn't as smooth a process as getting my machine going. I also want to say "some programming experience" is necessary for tinkering with the inner workings but I don't think that's true either.
