MS seem to be having a hard time in Europe, especially as they can't sell Windows and Xbox in Germany at the moment...
Edit: Spelling

Sounds like a great time for them to open their eyes and use Linux. But no....that would be more difficult than b17ching about being gouged. rolleyes.gif

Do wonder what the plan is here from MS. Is the currency exchange rate and all that really so bad?

Don't worry...the US is slowly falling into socialism too so we won't be far behind much longer.

Linux isn't as reliable as Windows and enough people already don't know how to use Windows properly so if they switch to Linux then chances are they will have to hire a load more IT guys which in the long run will end up costing more.

Wat?

I'm pretty sure you meant 'dumb proof'. Reliable? Leaps and bounds ahead, as I said, if you're not the 'what happens if I mess here without knowing' kind.

Actually both, I have found Ubuntu crashes a lot more than Windows 7, probably due to a lack of driver support, or I was just doing something wrong.

Ubuntu Linux seems like pure dumb luck to be honest.

But there are companies like Red Hat and Linspire/Xandros that offer support. Might be time for them to shine.

Since the prior poster already gave you a retort I'll be a bit nicer and ask that you look up what runs most of the stock markets...if it was unreliable then they wouldn't use it. Really, if you haven't tried a distro out you should. You might be surprised at how "reliable" it is.

Finally, people are their own worst enemy at times...complain about a company having a monopoly/charging to much but still pay them anyway? Wow...that's perfect logic.

I wasn't being un-nice tongue.gif It's just dumb luck getting the damn thing to work great. My rig works flawlessly with any distro I've tired. My GF's new rig had some real issues (that I think are related to the GPU) to the point where I gave up. It wasn't quite Linux being unreliable but it wasn't as smooth a process as getting my machine going. I also want to say "some programming experience" is necessary for tinkering with the inner workings but I don't think that's true either.

I do...what do you think it means? Stalin? Hitler? Those were not, they were dictatorships. Most of Europe now has a fairly high inclination towards socialism whether public view or design of the governments. I'm starting to wonder what people think "Social" programs fall under?
