Socialism has nothing to do with it. What you are trying to say is privately-funded services vs gvt-funded services (as socialism stands for a system in which there is no private property, to start with). But, before you jump into conclusions, you should analyse the spending per capita (in terms of GDP) that the US does in respect to health-care system compared to any other country. You will find that although the US is the country that spends the most in such affairs (public spending)...its the system in which the smallest % of people is actually covered by gvt. health programs. Its ironic, nonetheless.
