[HI] Intel comes with two 'Pentium' processors LGA 1356. - Page 2

Woah. Double processor el-cheapo boards.

This will be interesting, if they can be overclocked (which with current Intel policies, I highly doubt).

Haha some of you people are nearly as bad as the people I have to deal with at work everyday.

If you READ the article then you will find out that it says 1356 is aimed at the server market.

Your arrogance is quite laughable, given that you've missed the reason for all our skepticism.

Doesn't matter where it's aimed at. It doesn't exist. When will this thing actually launch? The end of summer? There's hardly been any news on this socket, and it seems a bit late.

It sort of makes sense... as Ivy Bridge ramps up, Intel will have less use of their 32nm process, leaving room for this socket.

But dual core Pentiums? This is a dual socket machine, meaning you could take two Pentiums and get four cores. Or you could buy an i7-3770, which will be much faster and likely cheaper when including the motherboard.

The only reason why this socket will be relevant is because it's a more affordable alternative to LGA 2011 for 8 cores in a package - high end 1356 will be great. However, the existence of LGA 1155 makes these dual core Pentiums worthless.

I read the article, I get that 1356 is aimed at the server market.

I don't get that these chips would be suitable for server deployment. The source suggests no 2P boards with these chips.
Saying business "platform" could mean anything, particuarlarly with this dodgy translate Using the Pentium brand opposed to Xeon suggests workstation to me though.
High power consumption for a dual core chip, these just seem a strange thing to be releasing right now.

If it's the translation fair enough, but if I'm oblivious to something more please fill me in!

Your arrogance is quite facepalmable. Given the reason, just because its not on Newegg doesn't mean it does not exist. These could end up on a up-coming 1356 socket yet to be introduced. Tho I agree with, what is the whole point of having a "dual" dual core server. When you could just buy a quad core Xeon. And might cost just the same as the two separate processors combined.

^This. Also, if you Google LGA 1356, the first result is a Wikipedia page explaining how it is aimed at the 2P server market.

Okay, so it exists in labs. That's useful to the world how?

The platform hasn't been launched yet. Newegg has nothing to do with this, although I will say that if you don't think businesses rely on newegg, you're completely clueless.

I don't think anyone missed anything in the article. It is vague and confusing. The point seems to be that intel had left over 32nm wafers from the 1366 chips that they are trying to get rid of.

No one said Newegg was the main supplier of server hardware, your pretty clueless to think so.

You're the one that brought newegg into this - clearly you're the one that's clueless.

I said it doesn't exist - it's pretty damn obvious to anyone with an iota of intelligence that I meant that in the since that it doesn't exist in any relevant sense. If it's not on the market, it doesn't matter.
