I'm not worried about GPU temps, I'm worried about it cooking my case
My 590 even used to run at a solid 75C, which was a pretty good temp, but since it was a non-reference cooler like the 690 and dumped half the heat inside the case, my crappy case couldn't handle it.
If you're right and the 690 runs at 70C, I'm afraid it will boil my case because it doesn't exhaust heat like my 580 does.
That said...you are upgrading your monitor...right? I know that this is OCN, but $1K to run only a single 1080p monitor...is not overkill. That's over-spending, considering your 580 (and most definitely a single 680) is far more than enough to drive a single 1080p monitor with pretty much all games maxed out.
Yeah, I'm sticking with my 1080P monitor for now
I know it's considered a waste, and I wish I could spend a grand on a 30" 1600P monitor, but I can't really justify it as foolish as that sounds.
And you were pretty outspoken against the pricing of the 690 at first, if I recall.
Of course. I still am
I'm just messing with the idea, though I might do something impulsive.
