anyone have any issues with a crucial SSD with a sabertooth? i decided it would probably be better to go with a cheap SSD ($100) thats SATA III instead of 2x 74GB RAPTORS Raid 0 which are SATA 1.5 not to mention SSD are just amazing for boot times and load times. i plan on just having windows along with all my tools on that drive. everything else is getting put on my 1TB.

so i got my SABERTOOTH 990FX installed! thing reached a higher OC with less voltage probably cuz of its 8+2 power Phase where as my ASRock was a 4+1 LMAO! can just tell the quality of the ASUS... using the thermal radar i found that VCORE_1 and VCORE_2 both hit high 60s but the board is around 40C average. the socket itself hit 55C. i left the garbage paste on but i knew better so i have some AS5 to see if that helps a lil bit i mean it usually lowers it by atleast 5C on my gpus it lowered temps by 9C+... got the H-100 and im thinking of mounting the 230mm fan thats laying on my floor now inside the drive bays... might go with a push/pull on the H-100 but stock, i almost **** myself when i saw a drop of 20C when im running a higher OC. lol. very impressed with this board and the cooler. overclocking with this is like working out with steroids. i mean i just wanted to see what it could do and i clicked auto... expecting that i was going to have to change it because auto almost never works right. it rebooted and passed POST. OC'd my RAM and my CPU and its insanely fast and STABLE. of course im gonna do a manual OC tomorrow... just wanted to mess around tonight. i forgot to mention my SSD. no more waiting for programs to open. its instant. and as for boots, its still slow! board gives me 2 chances to get into bios which is nice if i happen to miss that window but i dont need 2 chances when ive got everything set! anyone know how to fix that? it checks for drives and says there are none but then it pops up with bios and once that window passes, its ONLY another 20 seconds before windows is USABLE.

CLEARLY. just glad i did my research (along with all of you that helped) unlikea last time. people at microcenter dont suggest things that compliment eachother. example, "i need a mobo that will let me have a RAID 0 and it needs 2 way SLI ATLEAST!" he gives me that POS ASRock 970 extreme 3 which doesnt even have SLI unless you download and install HYPERSLI (that requires svm to do so). WORST PART is it only supported 16x/4x so basically one card only running at 25% of its potential theoretically so it probably is even less than that since that board had bottlenecks worse than my old 750i ftw. its not even a good budget board. atleast the 750i ftw supported full 16x/16x.

just pissed off cuz i lost all of my gamesaves... mad.gif

EDIT: then again im happy cuz i can finally rub it in my friends face about what a mistake he made when he could of had the rig i have for cheaper and the mobo by itself would probably fix all his problems... gigabyte man... horrible. they feel cheap and they ARE. my ASRock was way better and i paid $50 for that... took it back so i only ender up paying $135 for my mobo when its a $200 mobo biggrin.gif not to mention losing game saves arent anything cuz you can download game saves and my rig is like 50X faster... took out alot of bottlenecks so im able to stick with my 260's for a bit longer until the 600 series drops in price a bit. idk about you but im in college. i cant just go and blow $600+ for a GPU even though i want to. i was thinking about buying a 690 instead of my books but that wouldnt be very smart. idk its just that my rig is being held back by my 260s (now 3 gens old)...

Never trust the people who work in places like that. Most of them are just trying to sell whatever it is they have too many in stock of. At least the ones who are actually knowledgeable about the merchandise. Some of them just don't have a clue. Not too long ago, I was in a CompUSA store and had to explain to the salesperson what a Phenom II X6 was, and where they could find it in their own store.
